Bass & Walleye Classic Team Tournament

Waddington, N.Y.  Sept. 12, 2009

 

1)      Participation:

·        Two person teams only

·        Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian.

·        All entrants must sign up at one of the following locations no later than 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11th. Anyone signing up after that date will not be eligible for the boat number draw. All entrants must sign a liability waiver. You can sign up at: Nature’s Trophy Bait, Tackle & Taxidermy, Waddington

     Sandy’s Custom Tackle, Red Mills

     Ale House, Massena

     River Lanes Bowling Alley, Waddington

2)      Entry and Big Fish:

·        The entry fee will be $50.00 per two man team.

·        There will be a $5.00 conservation fee for each entrant that is not a member of the S.L.R.W.A..

·        The big fish contest is not required. It is $20.00 per team and will be divided between two species.

·        Big fish winners will also receive a free mount from Nature’s Trophy Bait Tackle & Taxidermy.

·        Big Fish winners will receive 100% of all big fish money collected.

3)      Tournament format and fishing:

·        All participants are responsible for knowing the tournament rules and requirements.

·        Boat numbers are required to be on the left side of the motor.

·        Contestants must abide by all local navigation laws and avoid restricted areas at all times. Fishing boundaries are: Robert Moses Power Dam, Massena (top side) to Iroquois Dam. Fishing is permitted in U.S. and Canadian waters.

·        Teams may weigh 4 fish only with a maximum of 2 fish per species for a total weight, including you big fish. Three of one species will not be allowed.

·        Fishing hours are 7:00am – 4pm.

·        All boats must be at the weigh station by 4pm (boat launch) or they will be disqualified.

·        All fish must be weighed at the launch before you recover your boat. Only fish brought up from the river will be weighed.

·        Mike’s cell phone will be the official time.

·        Winner will be determined by the weight of 4 fish (two from each species). You may weigh less than 4 fish. Ties will be broken by the biggest fish.

·        All fish must meet the minimum legal length in order to be weighed.

·        All SLRWA Fall Classic teams must remain off the water after 7pm Friday the 11th or you will be disqualified and forfeit all entry fees.

·        All teams must be present in the water at the Waddington Boat Launch by 6:30 am for ease off. Tournament director will release boats by number in groups of ten.

·        Scales open at 12:00 pm.

·        Team leaving the water early must weigh their fish first.

·        Once a team has checked out and left the water they can no longer bring fish to be weighed.

·        Rain date will be September 13, 2009.

4)      Payout:

·        1st Place    50%

·        2nd Place    25%

·        3rd Place    15%

·        4th Place    10%

    ** Awards will take place at JC River Run Bar & Grill at 5:00pm.

5)      Safety and Integrity:

·        Each contestant must observe safe boating conduct at all times.

·        All tournament boats must have required safety equipment.

·        ALL BOATS WILL BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO LAUNCH.

·        Teams not checking in after the day’s fishing will be disqualified.

·        In the event of a thunderstorm, lightening and or severe weather, contestants may pull into the nearest shoreline until it is safe to continue fishing. Contestants may not leave their boats during tournament hours except at the weigh station or if severe weather forces them ashore.

·        No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed or possessed during tournament hours.

·        Any contact other than rescue between boats during tournament hours is prohibited.

6)      Sportsmanship and Protest:

·        Contestants will conduct themselves in a sportsman-like, courteous, and safe, ethical manner at all times. Any unfavorable conduct or action by a contestant which could negatively reflect on the tournament will be grounds for disqualification or rejection of entry.

·        The director, organizers or angler has the right to protest another team’s fairness. An official written protest along with $100.00 must be made within 30 minutes of completion of final weigh in. The fee will be returned if protest is found valid. Following interviews with the concerned parties a ruling will be made. If not proven, SLRWA will keep the deposit.

·        Every competitor is expected to participate in the marshalling of the field in order to maintain the highest integrity to the competition. Any incident observed during tournament hours should be reported to SLRWA Fall Classic officials for further investigation.
